What If Single People Had Their Own Brand?
Wild Card Wednesday: Throwing an idea at the wall to see if it sticks
Wild Card Wednesday is here, which means it's time to throw something at the wall and see if it sticks or lands crumpled on the floor. Today, I'm testing an idea brewing for years: Solo & Savvy.
What if there were a brand designed specifically for single people living their best solo lives? Not dating advice, not "how to find someone," but how to absolutely THRIVE alone?
The Solo & Savvy Vision
Here's what I'm thinking: millions of us live solo by choice or circumstance, but most content assumes you're either coupled up or desperately trying to be. Solo & Savvy would be different—it's about mastering the art of living alone and loving it.
Think practical tips, emotional support, and celebrating the freedom of solo life. Everything from cooking for one without sadness to traveling solo with confidence. From creating a home that's just YOURS to building a social life that doesn't depend on a partner.
We're not half of a couple waiting to be whole - we're complete humans living complete lives.
Three Problems I Think I Can Solve
Here are three specific challenges I believe Solo & Savvy could address:
Problem 1: The Cooking Conundrum
Recipes are designed for families of four, but you're cooking for one. Food goes bad, portions are wrong, and grocery shopping feels wasteful. As a trained chef, I can teach you to cook delicious, satisfying meals for one without the waste or the sadness of eating cereal for dinner again.
Problem 2: Social Isolation vs. Chosen Solitude
There's a crucial difference between being lonely and enjoying alone time. How do you build a social life that energizes you without depending on others for happiness? How do you create community while maintaining your independence? How do you explain to people that you LIKE being alone without them thinking something's wrong with you?
Problem 3: Home & Lifestyle Design
Your space should reflect YOU, not some imaginary future partner. How do you create a home, plan travel experiences, and design a lifestyle that's authentically solo? Stop putting your life on hold and planning around someone who might never show up.
The Market Research Question
But here's where I need your help—is this actually needed? Is there demand for content specifically designed for solo dwellers who want to thrive, not just survive?
I'm genuinely curious about your experience:
What's your biggest solo living challenge?
Are you single by choice or circumstance?
What problems do you face that no one talks about?
What would you want to learn about thriving solo?
Would you read, watch, or use content, coaching, or products specifically for solo living?
The Underserved Market
I have a feeling there's a whole community of us who are tired of being treated like we're incomplete. The solo living market is huge and growing, especially post-pandemic, but most content falls into two categories:
Dating advice (how to find someone)
Survival tips (how to cope with being alone)
What about option three: how to absolutely fucking thrive as a solo human being?
Testing in Real Time
Maybe this idea is brilliant, maybe it gets crumpled up next week. That's the point of Wild Card Wednesday - testing ideas in real time, with real feedback from real people.
If this resonates, I could develop:
Solo Saturday cooking segments (chef-designed recipes for one)
Solo travel confidence content (because you shouldn't have to wait for a travel buddy)
Home design for the solo dweller (your space, your rules)
Social strategies for introverts and solo livers (community without compromise)
Solo & Savvy courses and coaching (comprehensive solo living mastery)
The Bigger Vision
Solo & Savvy isn't just about living alone - it's about living authentically. It's about designing a life that fits YOU, not society's expectations. It's about celebrating independence while building meaningful connections.
It's for the woman who travels solo and loves it. The man who's perfectly happy cooking elaborate meals for one. The person who's created a beautiful home that reflects their soul, not their relationship status.
It's for anyone who's tired of being asked, "When are you going to settle down?" when you're already settled—with yourself.
Today's Experiment
Today, I'm testing if Solo & Savvy could help people thrive, not just survive, alone.
This is market research in action. Your responses will tell me whether to develop this concept further or crumple it up and try something else.
Because that's what Wild Card Wednesday is about - testing ideas without attachment, gathering real feedback, and being willing to pivot based on what actually serves people.
Help Me Test This
If Solo & Savvy sounds like something you'd want more of, let me know. If it sounds ridiculous, tell me that, too. If you have specific challenges or ideas, share them.
Maybe Solo & Savvy sticks, maybe it doesn't, but we're finding out together.
And honestly? Win or lose, it feels good to throw something at the wall and see what happens.
